Just finished this Dave Stanton inspired Three Drawer, 114 piece, Studio Pencil Box – Oak and Mahogany. The Oak was re-purposed from a dining room table I had made almost 50 years ago. The pencil cradles are Pine. The drawers are Mahogany with Walnut ply bottoms. The handles are laminated Padauk and Mahogany. The space in front of the pencil tips is for sharpeners, erasers, etc. The space behind the pencil ends is so you can push the individual pencils down and they’ll pop up letting you just grab the pencil you want. Box is rather heavy for side handles so I recessed finger grips into the side/bottom. Finish is Boiled Linseed Oil.

Wow nice box. It could house a lot of small things, just change the drawer liners.

This makes me want a lot of pencils so that I may build a box like this one.

Great craftsmanship and attention to detail. The end grain of the finger joints are well executed and contrast well with the oak and mahogany.

Now you know where all the colors are.

I have this on my “to do” list for granddaughters. Question: are there drawer glides or do the trays nest atop one another?
