The idea to build a bandsaw box was developed the first few days of January, My grandson that was visiting during the holidays that he would like to make a box for his girlfriend. I suggested a bandsaw box as they are quite simple, only trouble was his design was not that simple and with only a few days left I could see some modifications had to be made.
His design center around Harry Potter. It did not facilitate a cutting pattern. My idea was formulated, why not cut the project in half and then cut the drawers out, use a pacer and glue it back together. I though I had more pictures of the different stages. This is more of his finished project with the wood burning, he then took it home and got knobs and put a finish on it

It took me till now to try and build one myself, I picked something simple, Start with a shape and then layout the boxes

Then cut in half on the table saw, the rest of it is explained in the video, was having too much fun to take more pictures.

A nice finish is in order and flocking in the boxes is simple to do and makes them first class. I used ear rings for the pulls. easy and simple too.

Make one, the ladies like them, score a few points.

Thanks for looking comment appreciated

I normally dont like bandsaw boxes so much, because they appear kinda clunky to me. I do like this one, as the lines are nice and clean and orderly. I like the pedestal/base combo too.

Well done.

I like your box – has a very oriental feel to the style, but as a BIG Harry Potter fan I like his box better. :-) The only thing I would change would be to put Ravenclaw on the top with Gryffindor (Go Ravenclaw!)

Thanks for posting.

Both cool projects.
Your box will make a neat base for a clock too.
I like your BOX better.
But, I am an “extended middle aged” person. I do not mind the Harry Potter, just not an addict either!
