A long time ago I went looking for a middle tool chest riser for my short Husky toolchest, but I couldn’t find one. I decided to build my own. After building the basic “box” the project stalled for about a year and filled up with junk. This January I got around to building the drawers and installing them on full extension slides. I think this is a nice improvement over the messy “box” full of random tools. Plus, since it was all built with scrap wood, it’s a nice savings over buying a pre-made middle tool chest. I only spent money on the drawer slides.

I’m very happy with the strength of the box considering the upper toolbox is full of wrenches and probably weighs at least 50 pounds.

Looks like between the then and now pics, that you’ve increased your storage space. Nice job.

If you can’t find what you need, then build it. Kudos for finishing the project, it looks good.
