One of my absolute favorite recent projects! I was asked to make a tool box for a long term hired help on a friends farm. They wanted it to be out of oak and have his name engraved.
I choose quarter sawn white oak and finally got around to doing box joints for strength.
I added an insert and a handmade handle that I love! It was fun to make this whole thing and I learned new techniques doing it.

Finish was odies super penetrating oil

That’s a dandy. Great looking finger joints and wood combination.

Hey, thanks all! I really love it – the owner to be hasn’t gotten it yet! It will be a few weeks until he does, but I couldn’t wait to share it.

Nice box. I love tools boxes, and chests. Fun to make, and use. Hope the hired hand enjoys this one.

I really like that handle.

Big Shooter – I have a smallish CNC. Roughly 15×17 cutting area. I cut the letters and then painted oil based paint into them
