Here’s another keepsake box. This one is made from solid walnut and curly maple, and a maple veneered bottom panel. The laminated construction give the box joints a unique look and adds a little something extra in contrast. Lined in ruby red velvet and finished in satin lacquer.

Again, you have made another supurb example thinking ‘outside’ the box.

Beautiful !!

Thanks! The laminated construction is extra work but that’s ok. It’s worth it in the end

The lamination is a total hit for me! I’m going to have to psyche myself up to try it with half-blind doves! It’s supposed to kiss 60°F today. Yay!

Those side by side box joints are outstanding. That must take a little time. Well done with a beautifully displayed box.

Agreed on the use of the overlapped box joinery, really cool effect that carries throughout your box!

That center panel on the lid is great. Probably the photography talking, but on the inner view of that panel I see the curl as predominant. On the view from the top that snaky grain pattern is what jumps out at me, and the curl is noticeable, but less distinct.

Nice box. Filled with little ohhhhh’s and ahhh’s
