I finished the Adirondack Bench last night. Solid walnut and 44” long making it a two butt bench . The technique for me to master on this was the two pairs of through tenons, they had to be exactly and precisely cut, I did it!!
The last picture is a table-saw blade brake I made from the cutoff of the bench legs. Necessity is the mother of invention.
The walnut I used was from very old stock I had on the racks. The wood in some areas had turned an olive drab and not very attractive. I tested some General Antique Walnut Stain on some scrap that disguised the discoloration very well. For the top coat I applied 3 coats of General Oil Satin sanding between coat.
