A friend of mine showed me a table he had just finished, it was aG&G thousen table. Very nicely done. I thought I would give it a try, and make them for the granddaugauhters. I new I could not do the scrool work on the sides, so I made ssolid sides and added a drawer.
One QSWO, the other is walnut.
These tables mortise and tenons, which I’m getting better at.
They 4 oak legs were cut from a 3”x3” piece of oak that was left over from a frame I made, so the are a little undersized.
I had to glue up the walnut ones, which were cut the top piece of an antique pump organ.
I had a hard time with the raised breadboard ends (I don’t make mistakes, I make adjustments) and had to make an adjustment to them, so they are level,
The drawers were were made out of plywood, and face with 1/2” QSO, and 1/2” maple with burl walnut.
All in all I think they came out fairly nice (it’s for family, and they never complain) and Iwill be making one for myself soon ( I do complain, but I don’t listen to myself).
Thanks for looking.

Good looking table, I keep telling myself to get a mortising machine every time I pull out the chisels? Maybe some day? Then the minimalist(frugal/cheap) in me sort of compares it to a router jig for Dove Tails:)

Thanks for writing. I don’t have dove tail jig (don’t like them) I like a nice miter with contrasting spline.
I don’t polish anthing any more, I had a prolbem with paste wax once so I don’t do it.
