Bathroom sink conversion

Nothing special but, I thought I would share a clever way to mask an old ugly sink in my bathroom. While we had two sinks in our bathroom we had an old sink that was never used in our house we purchase 3 years ago. I studied that problem for a long time until it hit me like a ton of bricks, cover it up. So, I built this cap to cover up our ugly sink. After removing the old sink and plugging up the water access and drain, I covered the whole thing with this top. It fits over the old sink top.

The new top is made of Red Oak with an oak back splash. I also incorporated an oak dowel rod to hold our electronic devises for overnight charging. I gave the top a coat of Minwax oak stain and applied one coat of Minwax Polyurethane finish. It turned out better than I had hoped and my bride loves it. Now we have a new bathroom vanity. Thanks for looking.

So you removed the sink and put a new top on, or you covered up the old sink? Either way it looks good, and more useful space.

Hey there Chuck, I removed the sink altogether. I just used the counter that the sink was in. Thanks just the same though Chuck.

Same to you guys, Rick and Burly Bob. Thanks.
