When we moved into this house in 2005, I had told my wife that we could remove the half wall on the stairs and replace with railing. Well, I finally got it done in 2019. Better late than never I guess. Also, the stairs originally were carpeted. I made the newel posts. The railings were purchased. I also made the stair nosing. The wood is maple.

The last picture was taken before we had removed the half wall on the upper portion of the stairs.

Looks great! It must have made a big difference to remove the half wall on the stairs. Wish we had a before and after picture but what I see I like.

Nicely done…love the design! Whenever I do projects for the wife, I always need a tool or two though… know so it looks better…

Nice job on the stairs. I bet you did the trim above the door that is shown. I did all the doors in this house in a smilar way. I agree w Moke, you need a tool to get this project done! Always.
