The reason I haven’t been on Lumberjocks a lot lately is because on Christmas eve I bought myself a Christmas present of an Acoustic Guitar, Having not played since I was 16 years of age I decided that the 35 year sabbatical was long enough. I,m taking private lessons and have not been able to put the thing down. Loving it.

I decided that my Expertly Patient Guitar Teacher the Talented Italian Mr Simone Galdelli deserves a gift.
So here we have it. My Original design and my take of ”The Guitar Pic serving bowl” I think it should give him quite a surprise.
It does seem though I am going to have to make a bunch of theses things to distribute among friends and supporters of my Midlife Guitar journey. Fortunately the template and prototype are complete.

I built the guitar pic serving bowl using My original design on a paper cut out then plywood template and some sandwich laminated Sapele and Ash.
Lots of routing with flush cut and bowl cutter router bits.

Below a few pics of the construction. The design paper cut out, template, then the routeing of the shape. Finished with Gloss wipe on Poly, Also, the new Initialed Branding Iron saw its first project.

Thanks for reading.
Kind Regards
Anthony

much cooler is that you rekindled an old love with your Christmas gift and then topped that off with a perfect companion wood gift
Nice job Anthony

I don’t believe you could of made a finer gift than that for the teacher. I bet he will be surprised.
Either that or earplugs. LOL. Really nice work Anthony.

OMG nobody is safe from ducks flying about!

I think you picked the right key with the timbre.

Sapelle, the best I have of this timber is a roll of veneer, again a bit rare in QLD

Saw your new mark, its looks good!

Here is my effort!!

Very nice! Don’t lay that guitar down, keep it up, I wish I had not taken a long hiatus from mine but now playing a great deal.
