I made some upgrades to my drill press – T-track table, accessory storage tray, etc. – and I figured I needed to make a drill press vise. So why not make it unnecessarily ornate??
It’s black walnut with flamed hard maple runners, and a spalted maple handle and matching T-Track hold down knobs.
This one’s got a cool trick though – it’s got a quick-release/quick-adjuster. You can screw the handle to tighten/loosen – or just push the button on the top, which drops the locking threads from the screw and you can then just push/pull the handle to quick adjust.
Turned out pretty sweet!

That is beautiful! The quick release is genius. I have made so many quick and dirty things for the shop, I love seeing a work of art instead.

Very good looking! I don’t think I could use it for fear of damage to the looks. Well done.
