This is a basswood carving of Ceridwen that I started some time ago. The choice of basswood was done to eliminate the chance of having any wood-grain causing distracting patterns across her face. The carving is 10” tall, and 3” thick.
The carving tools used were all Flexcut, and (as usual) they all performed wonderfully for this project.
Ceridwen is the Celtic goddess of rebirth, transformation, and inspiration.

She looks real.
Great job mate.
I can see why you didn’t want grain feature, it would have spoiled the result.

Thanks for sharing.

-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.
