I had some leftover maple from my current workbench project, and SWMBO has wanted a frame for some art we bought last Summer at a local art fair in Milford. Basic frame construction with Mahogany splines in each corner. This is the first time I had to get 4 mitered corners lined up. I don’t have a shooting board, but with a little patience my Incra miter gauge did a pretty good job. Several coats of Arm-R-Seal satin were wiped on, and rubbed out with Behlen’s Deluxing compound.

The artist is Thomas Legault from Plymouth, MI. He travels a lot around the country, so you may see him in a local show as well, he is in Florida right now. We have a larger piece of his that we bought shortly after we were married, that will get a frame shortly.

Jim beautiful frame and painting. Great work as always.
The color of the frame and the border match the artist work perfectly.

Yep, I love the understated-ness of the color/grain/shape, perfect for that painting.

Have your say...
