I had someone contact me that asked me to make a display case that the item could be visible all around and from the top. So, I came up with this little beauty. It’s made of Red Oak and I wanted to make it with removable glass in case there was breakage. So, there are two small brass screws a the very top of the cross slat so the top can be removed. The top and sides are removable so it has a stationary base that accepts the top portion. The inside dimension for display is 8 3/4” square and 9” high, outside dimension at the widest is 10 3/4” square and 10 1/2” tall. I applied Minwax oak stain to the project and applied 3 coats of Minwax aerosol lacquer to the case. It was very time consuming making this project, but it’s nice to see it now that it’s done. I hope you enjoy it.

I love it. Beautiful! I’ve never tried the minwax spray lacquer. Have you ever tried the Deft spray lacquer. I absolutely love it. Great job as always.

Chuck, Yes I have tried Deft spray lacquer. The only reason I don’t use it anymore is, I can never find it. The minwax lacquer works pretty good for me. I have a few left over quarts of Deft still on my shelf I’ll probably never use.

Thanks to the rest of you. I haven’t heard anything from my customer.

Yeah, I hear ya. I get it at a woodworking store near me. Pricey, but I only use it on smaller higher quality pieces.
