Project Information

Simple little Sunday project using reclaimed baltic birch ply scraps, glue and nails. Nothing fancy
I have an assortment of leather so I Barge cemented it to the bottom thin plywood.
The tray was supposed to be for my office desk, but I used a dark stain that matches our kitchen cabinets and, well
it got confiscated for kitchen duty.
So now I have to make another one for me!

Nice tray! I made a valet and mail depository out of 1/4" oak strips and 1/4" oak plywood for the base, but nobody used it. The one with dividers is in my room, and I put a tool chest that got superseded by another in that valet's stead. 8 drawers, and the wife hates it in that location. When she told me that, I told her about lots of things that I don't like of hers in their locations! lol

Laughed for a good few minutes over that one. I've built a few things the boss lady said she loves and found a place for but to this day sit empty. Apparently I'm not supposed to ask if we were robbed every time i look in her empty jewelry box i made her.

Sorry for the side track. I always like wood pieces combined with leather. I need to learn a bit about working with leather so i can make some.

The leather stuff is my favourite to add to wood projects whenever I can

Not a sidetrack at all. I have the same thing with my wife as I fool around with my hobbies. Seems she isn't so hot on many things I make, so was surprised she liked the tray. I also found that you don't want them liking too many things you make as suddenly she sees you as useful and then have a long list of projects to make for her.
