This is a project that I built over the last few weeks and posted it as a four part series that can be viewed on my blog.
It’s made from Quarter Sawn White Oak and joined with mortise and tenons, biscuits, and dowels. I used a 1/4” thick beveled mirror.

You can see photos and plans of this frame being built on my blog page.

This is my original painting that I used as a reflection in the mirror. It’s oil on linen, 36” x 24”.

I have limited editing skills on this computer and was unable to blank out or change the image in the mirror.
So I placed this painting on an easel to reflect it’s image in the mirror.
It looks better than my shop wall.

The finished project is beautiful. Thanks for sharing. QSO has become a favorite wood to use.

James, this is a real winner! The design and execution are flawless. I especially like the pot on the ledge; I don’t think I have seen that done previously. Is this another McIntyre original?

Is the painting one of yours?

Thanks Art.
The clay pot, vase was made by my son Sean. He stopped by last night while I was setting up for the photo shoot and was happy I was using it in the photos.

Yes, the painting is one of mine.

Very nice.
I was like…....instead of a picture in the middle, this would look nice with a mirror in the middle….....then I read your description.
The QSWO is a real winner.
Well done.

Fantastic! I love the whole thing, it’s amazing. Great painting as well. You are a very talented individual!

That’s beautiful! I wish our house had a place (left) where such could be hung.

Great looking project. It came out just right.
That painting is something else. Lots of talent here.

Great mirror frame! Now go and make similar frame for the beautiful picture!

PS Like the trick with reflection too!

Sir, You are an Artist on top of being an Artist!! If that makes any sense at all… The woodworking as well as the painting are stunning!
