Legs were built up around a poplar core. Drawers and dividers made from a single board, on wood runners.

The clock is just as nice as the table

love it,nice dovetail work.i agree about the clock they go well together.

Nice table!!!

If they were from the same tree, I was wrong before, this table is Red Oak, beautiful ray fleck.

Well executed, and great wood! I have to display my lack of knowledge though, and ask why the drawers are dovetailed differently.

55woodbutcher: no reason really. It was one of those, “Hey, this might be cool” moments. Besides, it’s a bigger drawer, so of course it needs more dovetails. LOL

The leg buildup came out great, fine display of that wood!

The arrangement of the rays is spot on. Did you make the veneer for the legs on your band saw?

Yes – cut on the BS and then planed to about 1/4”
