Hello All,
Been absent for a while! I made this for my grandson who is 19 months now. He’s smart as a whip and was figuring all this out within minutes of delivery.
Everything is securely attached to this board so that no small parts come loose. It’s about 30 inches tall and 24 wide. Stands like a picture frame with enough tilt that hopefully he won’t pull it over on himself!
I thought latches alone were too boring and needed a purpose so I put pictures of mom, dad, himself and a mirror behind the 4 doors. The desk bell is to drive mom bananas (lol). The single bell is off my old motorcycle. The LED light I felt was too bright for his tender eyes so I painted the center blue. The letters are velcro and the matching color wheels above spin. The vertical rod is threaded so he can learn up and down, left/right spinning and the horizontal is aluminum rod, I made the wood wheels, they just spin and slide. All the other hooks/carabiner/etc., my husband says I’m teaching him how to break out of his house! ;))
Rocco loves it, mom loves it, that’s what matters to me!! Mom even said she had looked at these on line. She said this has gross and fine motor skill, letters and color matching – all the things her smart self looks for in educational things for him. This was a total surprise to her and she was thrilled – that’s what makes a grandma happy!!

Another “terrible” Grandparent giving the grandkids loud obnoxious noise makers. I love it. Payback in all it’s forms can make you evil Granny. Lol.

That Mom is allowing it as educational is great, she knows she….... Well, she knows.

Awesome project. These really do improve motor skills, and hand eye coordination.

Looks great. The bell would have “broken” at my house. He is a lucky grandson.
