Like the title says this is a recipe box with box joint inlay and mitered corners with splines. I made this project for another content creator and even turned an egg (her mascot) for her on a power drill. Full process can be seen in my Youtube video below.
Box is made with 3/8in curly maple and purple heart. For a little more beauty I used finger joints to make an inlay and used splines to play well with the design.

Cool joints on this box. The miters are great.
The egg shaped button is cool too!

Agree with the above comments, very unusual way to do corners.

The egg knob is a very cool original idea, the joints are a nice design idea too. Nice job

Nice box and box joints. The Purpleheart contrasts nicely with the lighter color.

Love the corners on this. Want to try that sometime this year when my wood drys out.

Thanks RugaR! give it a good practice when cutting for the splines, one of them on the back is not centered, and is pretty frustrating RAWR!
