We needed a wedding gift for some friends of ours, and I’ve been looking for an excuse to try building a cutting board like this anyway. This one is maple and walnut, and was a lot of fun to put together. I think it turned out pretty good! I’m getting the hang of building these, but there are still new things to try and learn just in making cutting boards.

Dang Casper!
That is a beauty that is hard to look at.
Great work and you’ve totally nailed the whole Op Art illusion.
Great job!

I agree with Jon, that thing is a crazy illusion. Glad you had fun making it, it really came out cool.

Always liked these cutting boards that make your head spin. Like you said there are so many ways to make them that alone can make you dizzy. Nice work.

Lovely gift idea. Starring at it, I see your pattern. But now, I can’t see at all…

The finished product ended up just over 3/4” thick, and approximately 9”x12”.

Very cool but I would actually cut my finger using it by watching it and not the blade.
