Couch Table for the wife

I finally finished the couch table that my wife asked for over two years ago. I had no sooner ordered the lumber when I had a ladder tumble on me, I broke my leg, had two surgeries to try to fix it and then tripped over my cane and broke my neck. The ordeal was capped with a hip replacement about six months ago. The table is made out of poplar stained with General Finishes Espresso water based stain. The legs have an added filler of Granedillo for contrast. The top is 2 x Black Walnut…..I know. A little overkill, with wet sanded Watco Black Walnut Danish finish. The top coat I used was for the entire project was General Finishes Arm R Seal. We are debating if we should add a bottom shelf. Your opinions, comments or suggestions are always welcome.

Wow, sorry to hear about your misfortunes. The table looks great. Extra shelves just collect stuff you don’t need… so of course you need the lower shelf ;)
