Worked on a couple of last minute Christmas toys this passed week. These toy airplanes, a Lockheed Electric and a DC3, are based on Lloydswoodtoyplans.com Egg Plane Series. Each plane is about 13.5`wide and 9.75`long.
They were made from scrap maple, oak and laminated walnut veneer for the Electra tail fins .

A very nice wooden toy that looks solid enough for a kid to actually play with. Well done!

Looking like family heirloom material Peter. I have a nephew who’s about forty five who still has the wooden toys I built him when he was little. He only had girls so he’s hoping for some male grandkids to pass them on to.
Your airplanes are great.

GaryCN – how about a DC5? I guess the designer at Lloydswoodtoyplans took some artist license when making the plan.

Yes a DC-5, only five of them were built. But a possibility, I had to look that up. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douglas_DC-5
