Christmas Gift for the LOML.
Needed a step stool for her to get to the top shelf of her closet and chose to do some hand cut dovetails and tenons.
Solid Cherry with some curl, 16” x 9” x 9” H 7/8” thk with a BLO finish.

why would somebody hand cut dovetails on a step stool ?

Because you can and because it makes a REALLY attractive piece of furniture – That is probably the nicest step stool to come along recently

Looks flimsy, you need to beef up those joints a bit 8^)

It all looks excellent! The cherry with the end grain and wedges really give a nice pattern to the sides.

This stool is ready to step out!

That is solid. I am certain it could also be a jack stand for my truck. Well done…bet she feels safe using it.
