I have had this trivet saved in my favorites for years. Actually 2013 I saved it, built 1 about a year ago and my wife uses it all the time. So after a party at the house and we clearly needed more trivets. I was asked To hit the shop and make several for the house and for friends that requested them.

The outer pieces are cherry, middle is white oak, dimensions of completed pieces are 3/4 X 3/4 X 12. I did not apply a finish, but will pick up some oil to apply at a later date.

Lumberjocks is awesome, but it’s the members that really make this group. Free exchange of ideas, willingness to share knowledge, ideas, support for beginners and forums on all that is woodworking. The project I copied is linked below. The Lumberjock that inspired this project luv2learn

Interesting, followed the links back to the source and doing that a person could get a pretty complete how to.

Looks like a quick gift idea, that would be unusual, quick, and well received if the person being gifted cooked, or even had hot take out.

Right in my favorites box! My wife like to set a table with everything on it. These will be a welcome addition. Thank you for posting. Maybe I can get some done for New Years Eve.
