I made this for my wife for Christmas, the turning is the easy part, I’m not a painter. I got the plans from an old Fine woodworking book.

Very nice! I had this wild hair of an idea once that I’ve never shared with another woodworker:

I’ve seen traditional nutcracker made with a wooden screw to crack the nut. Usually they are just round and fit in the palm of your hand. I want to make one where you twist the head of the human looking nutcracker that is attached to a wooden screw! Might be kind of creepy. Maybe more of a “nightmare before Christmas” decoration than a traditional Christmas decoration…
