I found a large branch on the side of the road from a Ginkgo tree. Didn’t know what to expect but this little bowl emerged and the bark stayed on as well! its small; only 9cm in diameter. I haven’t seen many projects using ginkgo…. I wonder why, it was quite nice to turn and had some real character in the grain.
Drizzled some superglue on the bark and finished it with chestnut melamine lacquer.
Thanks for looking !

That looks great. The Ginko does have a nice looking fine grain.

Love the live edge rim. Great piece.

Another great bowl. The wood looks fine. Hope you can find more of the Ginkgo wood.

Maybe you can contact some tree trimmers and buy some larger pieces.
