WWGOA....had a contest a couple of weeks ago and supplied a pattern for a 2 by 4 scrap reindeer to cut out with your bandsaw. I’m a sucker for anything that uses up scrap lumber…..like my trees. So I made up a herd and a sleigh for them to pull across my fireplace mantel. Lots of sanding, but I think they look pretty frisky!

Love your lines. Clean, simple, graceful.
Great job!

PS. Isn’t sanding out all the tearout and cut lines the WORST?!!! It takes FOREVER!

I can practically hear the Jolly Fat Man calling out to them…..

“Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen! On, Comet! on Cupid! on, Donder and Blitzen!

Merry Christmas. You deserve a rest after all that bandsaw work.

Interested in making your own herd? Visit wwgoa.com (Wood Workers Guild of America) and put “reindeer” in the search box. The downloadable plans are still available.

Shouldn’t it really be “Now Chisel!, Now Inlay!, Now Dado & Rabbet!, On Scraper!, On Bevel!, On Mortise and Tenon!”

jbshultz – Thanks for sharing the reindeer, I know the next project for the mantel!
