This is the second basket illusion box I made for a Christmas present. Made from cherry. This one was sprayed with a satin lacquer.

Really nice. As long as it takes to do color the pattern, you must be working on them night and day.

Do you use an index plate or just use the index built into your lathe?

Nathan, I print out a indexing wheel from the internet and use that on the lathe to help me draw the lines. This design has 96 divisions which is more than my lathe has built in.
Bryce; I not that creative. This is just a simple zigzag pattern. The basket illusion process makes it look attractive.

Geez that’s nice. It looks like a lot of work and prep. Since you don’t have 96 divisions how did you do in betweens.
