I made this box for my wife. The background veneer is European Beach, the bird id made from Holly, walnut, Ebony, Spanish cedar, legs are Lace wood. The box is American black walnut, It is finished with Sam Moolof;s oil and varnish mix. the top and bottom are veneered on both sides with an 1/8” ply core. This the tenth Marquetry box I’ve made to date.. Please enjoy!!

Very nice! Birds are one of my favourite subjects.

the spalted top is great backdrop for the bird, looks so natural
