Client started out wanting water damage in a wall repaired. Project morphed into LVP floor with radiant in floor heat. Trimmed entire room in 1/4sawn red oak. Removed old patio door and trimmed in 1/4sawn red oak with ashe threshold. He then wanted furniture for the room and this is the result. Wood is 1/4sawn red oak. Tables are a/c trestle style. Chairs are sized to room and table and made from 1/4sawn red oak. Not pictured is a matching desk. Table tops were book matched with dutchman inlays. Corner bench is also a cedar lined storage unit. Inside the corner where storage can be problematic to get to is a control unit for LED cove lighting going around the ceiling controlable via wifi. Also installed custom crown, again, 1/4sawn red oak.

History of this project. Room is an addition that closed in an existing terazzo porch, brick wall is the chimney from the outside, but on the old porch. The original addition was done years ago and one wall developed a slow leak. In chasing that leak, I found the entire structure in that area compromised meaning lots of structural repair. That started the project in that the walls were all stripped of drywall and properly insulated. Stuff in this project-
removed old sliding glass door
trimmed opening in 1/4sawn red oak with ash threshold
stripped the popcorn ceiling
put in new ceiling fan
installed new light fixture over the table
blew in more insulation in ceiling
added radiant infloor heating
installed LVP flooring
trimmed entire room in 1/4sawn red oak, trim, base, crown, and windows
installed LED dimmable cove lighting with wifi remote control
made 2 tables and 1 desk, all trestle style with design elements that echo the pergola
made a corner bench seating/storage unit
made 3 matching chairs to furniture
installed tv/stereo onto chimney wall
installed new wood door stained to complement wood trim

Have your say...
