Recently made my wife and daughter each a walnut and maple cake knife and pie server for Christmas so I made these boxes to put them in. Even though they were built at the same time they both have there own personalities so I decided to use different hardware on them to further distinguish them from each other. One has wood feet while the other has brass feet and so forth. Finished with Danish oil and a personalized brass name plate added to each. The sides were made out of walnut 2×6’s I re-sawed to size and the maple top and bottom panels were glued up out of 2” strips. Needs to cure a bit longer then will line the bottoms with felt and plan on cutting some holders out of packing foam for the cake knife and pie server to rest in.
Well that’s about it for the year so I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and many happy New year’s to come.

Great work, BusterB! Like that brass butterfly clasp. The utensils are very purdy. No offense, but your chisel work for the hinge mortice looks like I might have done it:}}
