This is a Texas yellow-billed cuckoo, carved for a customer. It is 4 inches long from tip of beak to tip of tail, carved from basswood.

Way beyond my skill levels; everytime I tried carving the stove won!

Nice Claude – some of those Cuckoos migrate over to our area in the southern Sierra mountains.
