I’m a new turner so these aren’t examples of great work but a variation on form.

Useful for Christmas sugar cookies.

My wife bakes and has several types of cookies that she likes to roll to a uniform 1/4”. And pie crusts slightly thinner. These rolling pens are elevated on the edges to give a specified thickness. It makes it quick and easy.

The one on the top was a commercial one I took apart and turned the main piece.

The other I turned from a piece of poplar. Not ideal for the purpose but my wife likes it and wanted one where the handles did not spin. There is room for improvement and skill building.

So if your looking for a variant on a rolling pin here’s an option.

Sweet! No pun intended. I can appreciate the desire for crust thickness consistency. Good idea!
