I usually design all my own projects. But I saw this rocking horse online and just had to make it for my youngest granddaughter. (The Rocking Horse Shop – https://www.rockinghorse.co.uk ) Having prints or plans helps but this project takes a bit of skill and artistic ability. Having a encouraging wife that is an artist ( https://www.instagram.com/red_cabin_studio ) helped bring out the artist in me. This rocking horse was a Christmas gift last year and she loved it… something that I am sure future generations will also enjoy. By the way, I might add that you will need to wear a dust mask.. and your shop will get quite dusty.

Wow! You did a great job! The mane/tail and leather work really top this off. Did you make or buy them?

I bought the leather saddle, the eyes, and the mane and tail ( which are real horse hair). I recommend that if you order these off the website you buy the whole kit It’ll save some money that way.

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC WORK.

I do feel qualified to make this statement too.

I make much simpler rockingn horses; 65+ of them so far.

To say that this project took a “bit of skill and artistic ability” is an understatement. Beautiful work!
