Project Information

I had this idea kicking around in my head for a while so I decided to put it to wood and see what it looks like. I like it. It was a lot of work but came out really cool. There is a bit of padauk, oak, cherry, maple, mulberry (the yellow), mahogany and bubinga. The lid is ambrosia maple. Mostly hand tool work.

Nice box! It's always nice to see some crossover from one type of project to another. It expands the possibilities and makes for some welcome original work.

Thats a fair bit o planning and execution there, I imagine. Well done! Cant see the top from the photos you posted, but ambrosia sounds wonderful.

Sorry, but I have to ask: in one photo I see 4 tape-measures, in another photo there is only a lonely one. Did you really misplace 3 of them from start to finish of this project? Thats rhetorical.

When you leave them out in the sunlight, they multiply. This is what the window sill looked like last night

Sweet. I envision a new meme developing: you can never have too many tape measures!

And here I was always thinking they did that at night when nobody was around. Then the shop trolls come out in the daylight and run off with them.
