Cherry vase with a spiral curve and some simple dimpling – finished with india ink, the lye treatment and gloss lacquer.

Nice design and execution. Is the lye treatment what made the cherry so dark? I had some old cherry that was so beautiful, but all the cherry I get now is much lighter and not near as attractive. The dark cherry and black look so good together.
