I think with epoxy, sanding and paint, any monstrosity of box store pine can look exceptional!
Got to practice some chisel and hand saw work on this bed and really had to consider assembly after lugging it up the stairs in the design phase. Totally failed to consider how little space I had once I got the platform in place with the vaulted ceilings. Also got the pitch of the roof wrong to match the vaulted ceilings, oops – forgot to use my angle finder.

I made all this on my garage floor so cutting the vertical post joints required a make shift saw bench which is a portable work table on it’s end with some supports to hold the piece being cut

What does “She who sits on bed” have to say about it? That is the only consideration worthy of mention.

That is a cool bed made to fit the space, too. I’ll bet she loves it. Wait until she wants a picture window in that wall!!!!.................Cheers, Jim
