Project Information

This is my latest crime against kolrosing. The Random pattern on this box came from my own brain and it might even resemble it a little. My thought was that this plain little box needed a lot of pattern to make it anywhere near interesting and it also gave me a good kolrosing workout with the goal of improving my skills. Unfortunately I did rush this one a bit and made more than enough bad cuts to keep me humble. On the positive side, the lid which also functions as a spinning top works even better than all the previous ones. That said, my aim is to get better at kolrosing and not top turning!

I only have three more boxes to go for these small family Christmas gifts. I am trying to decide who should receive which boxes. I'll probably just number them and draw names. I just hope they weren't expecting one of those new Corvettes with the center mounted engines!

Dear Mr G

The results of you MRI and CT scan have analysed and a report has been prepared.

We are very pleased to report from your images that you presented you are fit and well.

In conclusion if you were to submit another three images before Christmas the "Clinic" would be most impressed with the opportunity to again analyse the results for you again.

Now who's being modest? That is great Mike. I can see why you will have a hard time choosing who gets what. Just keep them all and give them a spinning top. LOL.
My first impression of your design made me think of a maze.

Beautiful work, and it's got me thinking I need to add kolrosing to the list of things I need to try someday.

Thanks all for the kind comments. It's always good to hear from you. Now I have to clean up my shop a bit before I can continue with this series of boxes. That's the most difficult thing I do these days! I am fortunate to have a swivel headstock on my 24 year old Record lathe. I can swivel it outward so I can sit down while hollowing out. This is a big help and saves my back and knees. I wish I could also sit to clean up the shop, but we all know that won't work! My wife, bless her heart, has offered to come out and clean up for me, but I won't allow that because she already does far too much without my help and I think one should have to clean up their own mess caused by their hobby.

Hey Stefang, your latest kolrosing project reminded me of a pot we bought at a craft sale. It features a maze which is very similar to your pattern:

Now this does look like a brain Phil. It is somewhat the same idea as my pattern, but much nicer!
