Some teakwood I had purchased cheap at an estate sale. Beautiful wood but it leave lots of tiny splinters if not careful. I’m reminded of this as I type out this description.
Inlay was leftovers from a lazy susan project.
Maple top was carved with Egyptian hieroglyphics for my daughter’s boyfriend, who is Egyptian.
Hidden compartment was made by not gluing up the base and instead inserting magnets to top of base and bottom of box.
I still plan to add a ring holder box compartment.
Thanks for looking.

Very sharp looking box.
I like to analyze things, like those egyptian symbols. What I notice is:
The ankh, or life, is a feminine symbol
The wedja, or prosperity symbol, is rather masculine.
The seneb, or health symbol, is reminiscent of a snake turning back on itself, which could be feminie and masculine combined. Or, its a candycane:))
