I built a stereo cabinet for a guy I work with. All mortise and tenon joints. First time I’ve worked with Sapele. It went together very nicely and the colors are amazing. I don’t think the pictures really do it justice. Why don’t I see more stuff in Sapele? Anyone not like working with Sapele?

Very nice cabinet! And I agree, sapele is fantastic to work with, smells good too. Here, in Spain, it is also just a shade cheaper than white oak.

Beautiful cabinet. I like the shelves built from slats to allow air circulation for the electronics.

Love it.

I just received about 200 b/f of sapele for some upcoming projects. Love working with it and it is relatively inexpensive compared to most other hardwoods around here.

Thanks
Yes airflow was important.
The back panels pop out as well for easy wiring, and then drop back in.
