This is one of those projects where almost everything that could go wrong did. Well, maybe that could be said for all my projects. :)

It’s done and I reasonably happy with it

-- Measure it with a micrometer, mark it with chalk, cut it with a Hammer.

It turned out great!
Nice job and fixing mistakes is a huge part of the process for me too.
What kind of woods did you use?

Padauk and figured Maple. I’ll try to remember to add a photo in a few years once the Padauk darkens.

I agree with Jon, looks like you did a great job of fixing anything you thought was wrong. Either that or they’re all on the back side :-)

I agree once darker that Paduak will light up that Curly Maple. I like that the most about wood, A lot of things become something else given a suntan.

Very elegant box. Contrast of wood types is very nice.

Can I ask why you used two sets of barrel hinges?

They aren’t the sturdiest of hinges so it was partly based on that and partly a design choice.

The finished box looks awesome.
Those small boxes are notorious for making a small error look big. That’s why I build one if I haven’t done any woodworking in a while. It definitely hones your skills.
