I promised my wife a new bed and this is the one she chose. It’s a “Country Style Bed Frame” featured in Wood Magazine back in 1999. I chose to make it out of Red Oak and turned my own feet instead of buying them. In one of the photo’s I “wraped” a 1/4” wood on the bed posts so no end grain would show. It was a hard process, but it worked. I used Minwax oak stain and applied several coats of Minwax polyurethane with sanding in between coats. She was so happy, she bought a new mattress. Now onto the rest of the bedroom furniture. Thanks or looking. Oh yah, Can you guess my wife is an alumni from the University of Michigan?

Looks great, Don. I was just looking through bed plans yesterday and came across this one (again). You did a fine job on it.

Don,

Stellar job on building the new bed frame….You did an outstanding job, and the finish is super. It took you a while to get it built, but the old saying of “if you’re gonna do it, do it right”, and you sure did that. I know your wife is tickled with it, so if Mama’s happy, everyone is happy.
