Christmas is coming. Here is a great idea. Contrasting woods. Table saw and router work. grooves for drawers to slide. Use plain joints on the boxes or any kind you want. I even used a flawed knot hidden in the last picture concealed under the bottom drawer to use the wood I had. This is white oak and walnut. If you follow any from me, I like to give you the details. The top and bottom here are 14×7. the doors are 13 1/4×5 1/2 with walnut strips 3/4×3/8. rear, corner and front edge. drawer boxes have protruding bottoms of 1/4 each side and glued on, I had to custom fit each bottom due to my experience when I made this. Then the box sides custom cut to a planned spacing…again experience. the boxes were 4×7 1/4 front backs and 3 in sides. saw kerfs are at 2 inch spacing and full width before assembly except for the bottom drawer, it has no base extensions and slides on the bottom. the false fronts of oak are 8 1/2 by 2—2 1/4 again some inexperience. the walnut pulls notched in are 1 in. by 3/8 with a sawkerf underneath for gripping. only the top drawer I had to glue a piece on to make the pull ( another option in the build). most of this is a glue up but the main case side is hidden dowels to the top and bottom.. predrill for 3 necklace hooks. I used brass hinges from the back they won’t be seen and a ply panel it also won’t be seen. behind the drawers. The top and base are routed the same in my build, flat bottoms. I can think of cherry or other dark woods to make this and with a gloss finish it glows well in any light.

Great jewelry cabinet~!
Nice job with all the dovetails. Are those all handcut?
I like the contrasting lines on the horizontal drawers and the vertical door fronts~!
Thanks for sharing.

Great job on a classic build. The way you did the walnut accents adds alot of character.
