Needed a way to organize the central vac hose and accessories. #firstworldproblems Came up with this contraption. The “rotary coupling” are two PVC pipe fittings with the inner one lightly sanded to make it rotate freely and then greased. Of course now the complaint is, it’s too heavy to get it up and down the stairs. I guess a man’s job is never done….

I think the only advantages to a central vac are moving the noise to another location and less air movement to stir up dust. Hualing 30’ feet of hose can be a pain. I do like the cart though. I may use that idea for my 20’ shop vac hose.

What did you do to allow the hose to roll up? Is there some sort of a slip hose joint?

yea , don’t worry, you can try to make them happy, but they will always find a reason to be on you.
Too heavy, can’t go to the second floor.

Too bulky can’t get it into the closet.

Too ugly can’t allow people to see it…

Too pretty , can’t let anyone see it, because someone will want to steal it, or have you make one for them.

LOL..
Put some lightening holes in it, or create a warren truss sought of design to keep strength but lighten it up a bit.
