I was given a bunch of walnut ends and cutoffs from a milled log – they were going to use them for firewood.
Running them through the planer revealed some beautiful grain. I’ve made a few of these serving boards on the bandsaw and router table and they’re always a big hit.

Great design, especially from a single piece of wood. What size is this ? Mel

Nice, people love these. what is your finish? I made two with mineral oil and bees wax, that finish does not protect the wood from moisture. (cheese and other things will raise the grain). I am going to try WaterLux original on the next one.

mel52 – the board is about 14” on the long dimension. I’ve made a few of these and i try to let the defects in the wood help define the shape, so they always look a little different.

Peteybadboy – i make the exact same finish, beeswax melted into mineral oil, about 1:1 by volume. I always give a little jar of it with the boards when they go as gifts, but i agree, it’s not the most durable finish

Great job. I love the offset handle.
