Just thought I’d show you all my version of Lumberjock MJR’s knife. The blade part was cut from a 10” circular saw blade; I was surprised how well it cut and sharpened with a grinder! The handles are made from spalted oak burl, finished with shellac. I do just want to say this is NOT my idea, I just made a copy of MJR’s knife:

What does one use such a knife for? I’m having trouble imagining what it might be used for.

Honestly, I don’t know what it’s for! Several people in my family have asked me the same thing and I really don’t know. I thought it would be a lot of fun to use as a throwing knife or something of that sort but I don’t really want to mess up the handles! If you have any good ideas of what to use it for please let me know! I made it primarily because I liked the idea.

Nice “razorback” knife, Dale! Really like the knife scales.

The one I made is designed after a skinning knife, As in skinning a deer or other animal if your a hunter, Also as a draw saw to cut small limbs from trees and such, Except I didn’t realize I had the teeth facing the wrong way. Basically an outdoorsman tool

I’m really glad to know that about using it as a skinning knife. It may just come in handy this season! (:
