Great piece… i like the series. I have to ask, does the “study in movement” imply that the wet madrone wood “moves” as it dries and adds to the organic and irregular shapes you are achieving?
Great pieces.

Jon yes these were all turned wet then into the micro wave . The key is to get it hot and not burn the wood
It is very expensive firewood . Burned one sphere
Thank you for the interest in my work

Ron

Hi Ron That madrone is fun to turn but I also used a chunk for some flatwork. I made a clock out of a wet log and had the blank in the microwave for 2 minutes at a time all day on a Saturday .I had to get it dry because I was making a pocket for long piece of glass that had to be installed and could not afford movement afterwards It dried out okay with just some big crack on the bottom or the blank and they were filled and the clock finished.

Here is the clock: https://www.lumberjocks.com/projects/160170

Cheers, Jim

It’s all SPAM. I’ve flagged it and Cricket and her team will eliminate it.
