I just finished making this Display case, which will hold a copy of the Chicago Cubs World Series Trophy from 2016. The unit is made out of Zebra wood, Ebony, Ash Burl. Thank you for looking.

Always love to see your work Dennis. Another terrific piece Seems like a sad misuse of a beautiful cabinet however – looks like a humidor to me!

Curious about your use of zebrawood for the construction. After it’s been stained it appears to lose some of its normal zebra characteristics. Does it show through the stain well – or does this just give it a very uniform grain patter under the dark stain?

Thanks as always for sharing.

Very handsome execution! It’s appropriately masculine design will be admired with its treasured artifacts.

Incredibly well done.

I was left wondering the same. Plenty of dark woods at a lower price. Is there something there in real life that is having trouble making the jump through a pic?

Beautifully designed and of course executed Dennis. Is the copy owned by a player from the 2016 Cubbies?

Oh Dennis, I wish I had the time to work with my veneers more. Excellent work as always, I’d give you 6 months of my time for free to learn what you know. But now my stone business I talked with you and Patti when I met with you long ago, is really moving forward fast. I’ll always take the time to look at what your doing and feel a little jealous. Traveling back to India in 3 weeks for business. Take care my friend and say hello to Patti for me.

Hi Gary, SteveN, Zebra wood is the wood the customer what for his display case, he also wanted a dark color. Thank you for the complements.

Hi Paul, I made this for the owner of the Cubs, this display and trophy goes into his office here in town. He had a duplicate trophy made. Thank you for the complement, its great to hear from you!
