Decided to remove shelf that was there with something that was useable. The original plan was just to make one and put the shelf back in. Decided to make three cupboards, and installing them, thus doing away with the shelf. Used1/2 “ cabinet plywood for the carcasses and oak for the doors. Also learned ( the hard way ) router bits get dull and can router fingertip if careless for a second and the wood shatters. Finished with 2 coats of amber shellac and 6 coats of blonde and super blonde to get the colour I wanted.

Nice job considering your experiences. I just finished my cabinets as well. It is very satisfying to get the job done and look great like yours.

Augur,

Nice transition from just a shelf. I know that open shelves are really “in” now, but I much prefer your cabinets! They look great. I hope you’ve healed well from the router incident. No fun learning that way!
