I had been meaning to buy a set of calipers like this for checking wall thickness among other things that they are good for. Well I got this bug to make one out of the scraps laying on the bench one day and I finally finished them. Bob, I had to bribe the elves to work overtime on this one!!

They are made from maple and walnut with solid brass ends and axle. I milled them as close as possible and finished the brass pieces with a file to make them come together at exactly the same time. I added some shots of the way I held them to cut them as a pair. The large circle is 4” and the inside is 3”.

It is finished with clear lacquer.

Cheers, Jim

Very well done Jim.
Was the Molson Canadian used to lubricate the tool pivot, or the tool creator?
I like it!

Well made Jim..They look very professional.

Maybe a couple of VICTORIA BITTERS along side The MOLSON would also be nice….

Regards,

Cliff.
